New in 2008

Wilson and I were talking the other day about how much happened in 2008.

  • new house

  • new baby

  • new job (cuz I graduated)

  • new boss

  • new school (for Wilson)

I took a stress test that measures stress based on change in the last year. I wasn't surprised to find out I had high stress.

A look forward to the coming year:

  • I'm hoping to get my CPA license. I'm planning on taking the tests (there are 4) in April-May

  • Wilson finishes first year at Davis

  • I want to plant a garden, or at least have a tomato plant (it's, like, impossible to kill those, right?)

Halloween is Coming!

I'm excited for Halloween, this is our first year with a kid. When we were kids, my family didn't go trick-or-treating. We would do the trunk-or-treat at church and then visit family and friends on the 31st. We usually visited those that were a little bit out of the way so they didn't get trick-or-treaters very often. We still got some candy, but not copious amounts, we got to visit with people that otherwise probably wouldn't have gotten a knock on their door, and the best part was playing dress-up!

Everyone's a Critic!

Last night Wilson found a harmonica in the boxes he was unpacking. He played through the whole scale to make sure all the reeds were working. When he got to the upper notes, Henry (who had been happily eating until this point) started crying like he was in pain!. It took a couple minutes to calm Henry down enough to start eating again.

I guess Wilson needs a little more practice! ;)

UPDATE (7/25):

Last night Wilson played a song on his harmonica for Henry and Henry cooed through the whole song. I guess he just didn't like the high notes!

Long Time, No See

Okay, so it's only been two months since the last post. That's not bad, Right!?! We're chugging along, still getting used to getting up all night. Henry's growing so much, physically and mentally. He's smiling and alert. He is actually awake sometimes without wanting to eat (for a long time, the only reason he'd wake up was to eat). It's fun to play with him and see what new thing he'll do today.

This goofy look always makes me laugh!

First Post

I'm not always good at keeping up with these things, but thought I'd give it a try!

We closed on our house on Thursday. Wilson's been tearing up the carpet and linolium so we can put in wood laminate. It's sad that the house looks better with concrete than the carpet! Wilson's dad and brother are coming up in two weeks to help put in the floors. Thanks so much, we really appreciate your help!

Baby's moving a lot. We're excied to meet him face-to-face in the next several weeks. The sooner the better!

Last note, my brother, Jason, had his Eagle Scout Court of Honor last night. He has grown up so much and has become a muture, handsome adult. Congratulations and Good Luck!!
